BAT WORLD SANCTUARY

The Largest Bat Sanctuary on Earth

Bat World Sanctuary is on the front line to end the mistreatment of bats. Each year we rescue hundreds of bats who might otherwise die. Lifetime sanctuary is given to non-releasable bats, including those that are orphaned, injured, and rescued from the exotic pet trade, zoos and research facilities. We are also involved in conservation efforts both locally and internationally.

Bat World was founded in 1994 and is a 501c3 non-profit, accredited organization with the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries.

When you're ready for your glamour shot, but your photographer neglects to tell you that there's a tiny piece of your breakfast stuck to your lip 😑 Y'all don't tell Honey!!! ✌️💜🦇

Honey the hoary and Agave the Eastern red are foliage bats and, in the wild, live mostly solitary lives except for mating and pup season. Sometimes in sanctuary settings, they form comfortable relationships with each other and coexist happily in peace.

Bat World Sanctaury is located just outside Mineral Wells, TX. From where are y'all admiring the stunning Honey?

It’s $5 Friday! When you donate, you save lives! 🦇

What if I told you that your $5 healed a broken wing, fed a starving bat, or even cured an infection? These things really do happen. Bats often come into care after horrible tradgeies, like cat attacks and nearly downing in pools. Thanks to our amazing supporters, we have all of the supplies we need to care for bats even in the most critical conditions. It’s because of this that these bats get a second chance at life and are often released, or provided with a permanent home here at the Sanctuary. So yes, your donation really did cure that illness, heal that wing, and feed that starving baby bat.

Your donation, even just $5, provides us with medications, medical supplies, food, and all the other necessities needed to ensure that the bats we care for have the absolute best chance of recovery. We could not do what we do without our amazing supporters and people like you. Every dollar makes a difference and can ultimately change the course of a bat’s life for the better. ❤️

Happy #batbootyfriday ❤️

Just one more thing to be grateful for, adorable bat tushies and precious little toesies.

❗️Never touch a bat bare handed! We are trained and vaccinated to handle bats. Wildlife rehabilitators sometimes forego gloves to gain better tactile sensitivity when caring for tiny patients 😊

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our amazing supporters and followers! If not for your support through contributions, our wish list, and sharing, we would not be able to save the beautiful bats we all love so much! We are eternally grateful for each and every one of you!

This curious short tailed fruit bat decided to come check out what I was doing during tonight’s lettuce time before taking off to go join the rest of her colony again. I certainly don’t mind having a little helper! 😁
