A lady in Green Bay, WI, found a juvenile bat on the ground outside while walking her dog. The dog noticed the bat and the owner quickly got the dog away from the bat. The bat was severely dehydrated and could not fly, most likely orphaned. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bat and located a bat-trained rescuer in the finder’s area. The baby was transferred to a rescuer where he/she will be hand-raised and released when old enough to survive.
