A caller had discovered a bat helplessly stuck to a glue trap at a friends house near Green Bay, WI. We provided guidance on how to safely remove the bat using gloves, vegetable oil and a cotton swab.  We also located a Bat World Sanctuary trained rescuer in the finder’s area. The bat was transferred to a rescuer where he will be accessed for injuries and given supportive care until he is able to go free. We also cautioned the caller on using glue traps in the future because they cause inhumane deaths to so many animals. The caller was horrified that the bat was stuck to the trap and vowed to never use them again.
