A student at a local college in Weatherford, TX called with concern about a bat they had seen sitting on top of a picnic table at the campus. Unfortunately, the student did not know how to contain the bat but took a photo of it before heading to class. The bat seemed to be healthy and in good shape, and by the time a staff member arrived at the campus, the bat was no longer on the table. We hope the bat was healthy enough to have flown off safely, and we provided guidance on how to safely contain bats to the student incase one is ever found on the campus again.
