Miss Karen, a sweet (and oh- so very pregnant) Mexican free-tail bat was taking her nightly flight around town when she began to feel VERY tired. Being an expecting mother is tough! Not only is she flying with extra cargo, but pregnant bats need to hunt and eat about their entire body weight in insects each night. She tried checking into the hotel, but when the kind receptionist informed Karen that bats are not allowed inside to make reservations, Karen demanded to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor was quick to think on her feet, and arrangements were made for Karen to come stay at Bat World Sanctuary instead. At the sanctuary, Karen will get some much needed rest and extra pampering in preparation for her baby’s arrival, and when ready, they will both be released back to the wild. Hopefully she will leave us a 5 star review.
