A resident in San Antonio, TX found a bat grounded near their home. The poor bat was desperately trying to take off from the ground and fly, but could only manage to flap a short distance before landing again. They feared that the bat was injured so they gave us a call. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bat and located a bat-trained rescuer in the finder’s area. The bat was transferred to a rescuer where he/she will be assessed for hopeful release back to the wild.
