This lovely hoary bat was dropped off at a neighboring rehabilitation organization this past weekend. They immediately transferred her out to us, and we got her all settled in. She was suffering from a pretty severe wing break. After a round of pain meds, fluids, and antibiotics, she was starting to feel much better. Sadly, the placement and severity of her wing break made it impossible to save, and she did have to undergo a procedure to remove the wing to save her life. We’ve named her Priscilla and she is recovering well. Thankfully, bats adapt very well to the loss of a wing and while she wont be able to return to the wild, she will join our non-releasable colony at the sanctuary.
