A lady in Houston, TX, found a Mexican free-tail bat, under her bird feeder. The bat seemed dehydrated and very emaciated. The bat also had injuries on the wing, most likely due to a bird trying to attack it. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bat and located a bat-trained rescuer in the finder’s area. The bat was transferred to a rescuer where he/she will be assessed for hopeful release back to the wild.
