A firefighter in Azle, TX, called late at night after finding a juvenile bat on the ground at the fire station. The bat was fully grown and had a possible wing injury, he needed to get to a rehabber as soon as possible. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bat and located a bat-trained rescuer in the finder’s area. The bat was transferred to a rescuer where he/she will be assessed for hopeful release back to the wild.
