An evening bat was found grounded in Mission, Texas. Thankfully the bat was uninjured and likely just chased from tree by a blue jay or crow. Also, thankfully, the weather was quite warm there and the bat looked fat and healthy. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bat and either placing him up high on a tree and under a loose piece of bark (where they normally roost, or by releasing him at nightfall after the sun has gone down, by taking the box outside, placing it up on something high, then and turning it on its side and so the bat can fly off.
