A bat was found roosting in a homeowners attic outside of Tyler, Texas. Unfortunately, the finders placed the bat outside under a bush instead of following our voicemail instructions, and the bat was unable to be located afterwards. In the winter, bats should never be immediately released outside without having been seen by a bat rescuer first, as they are typically unable to fly away, and placing them on the ground leaves them at high risk of predation. We are unsure of where the bat is now, but it is unlikely he survived the night.
