Texas – bat attacked by cat

September 8

A bat was attacked and injured by a cat outside of Quinlan, Texas. The cats owner decided that containing the bat in a 5 gallon bucket and leaving him outside for 3 days with no food or water was the best course of action, as he believed the bat would “regain strength and fly away.” Being severely injured, dehydrated, and emaciated, with no way to escape the bucket, the bat of course did not fly away. The finder eventually contacted us, and the bat was transferred to Bat World MidCities where he will be assessed for hopeful release back to the wild.
