After a heavy rainstorm, a resident in Mineral Wells TX, discovered two freetailed bats outside her home. One bat was clinging to the side of the home, and the other was lying on a concrete step. Both bats were wet and had some minor scrapes, likely from a crash landing in the rain. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bats and sent a transport volunteer right away. The bats were brought to us where they will be assessed for hopeful release back to the wild.
