A couple in Bedford, PA discovered a bat lying on the ground motionless. They were distraught, thinking the bat was no longer alive, but upon further inspection realized it was still alive in fact, but in critical condition and severely dehydrated. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bat and located a bat-trained rescuer in the finder’s area. The bat was transferred to a rescuer where he/she will be assessed for hopeful release back to the wild.
