A home owner in Arch Cape, OR found a bat lying in her yard late in the evening. Thankfully the bat was uninjured and likely just chased from a tree by a blue jay or crow. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bat and as well as instructions on how to release the bat at nightfall after the sun has gone down, by taking the box outside, placing it up on something high, then turning it on its side so the bat can fly off. The finder checked the box in the morning and the bat had safely flown away in the night.
