After discovering 4 bats trapped in a large bucket outside their home, a caller from Laurel Park, NC tipped the bucket over so the bats could escape. 3 bats flew away immediately, but one bat lay helplessly on the ground. It was now beginning the rain, and the poor little bat was getting soaked. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bat and located a bat-trained rescuer in the finder’s area. The bat was transferred to a rescuer where he/she will be assessed for hopeful release back to the wild.
