An Eastern red bat was grounded in Tom’s River, New Jersey after being attacked by a cat. She sustained compound fractures on each wing. We provided the finder with guidance on how to safely contain the bat and located several bat trained rescuers in their area. The  bat was transferred to a rescuer where she received life-saving surgery and will be given permanent lifetime sanctuary as she will likely not be releasable.
