A resident in FT Worth, TX saw an object fall out of a tree in their yard. Assuming it was just a large leaf, the homeowner went to pick it up and very quickly realized it was a bat. Thankfully the finder was there to see the bat fall and was able to take action before any birds or other predators noticed the helpless bat out during the day. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bat and located a Bat World Sanctuary trained rescuer in the finder’s area. The bat was transferred to a rescuer where he/she will be hand-raised and released when old enough to survive in the wild.
