While moving out of their apartment in Lexington, KY a couple found a bat lying on the ground as they moved the sofa. The bat had a broken wing, and the couple feared he was injured while and sofa was moved. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bat and located several bat-trained rescuers in the finder’s area. The bat was transferred to a rescuer where it he will be assessed and receive lifetime sanctuary as he will likely not be releasable.
