A red bat was found grounded in a homeowner’s yard in Belleville, IL. The homeowner contained the bat in a popcorn box and then contacted us. Thankfully the bat was uninjured and likely just chased from a tree by a blue jay or crow. We provided guidance on how to release him at nightfall after the sun has gone down, by taking the box outside, placing it up on something high, then turning it on its side so the bat can fly off.
