An apartment resident in Bradenton, FL was shocked when they discovered a bat roosting on their front door. The finder used a branch and relocated the bat to a nearby tree, but quickly became concerned when they realized the little bat had a wing injury and may have flown into the ceiling fan of the patio. Wanting to find help, the resident gave us a call. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bat and located a bat-trained rescuer in the finder’s area. The bat was transferred to a rescuer where he/she will be assessed for hopeful release back to the wild.
