After a rain storm blew through Bryceville, FL a local found a bat lying helplessly in their yard, with a little pup clinging to her. The finder first used gloves and placed the bat on a nearby tree hoping the mama would fly away during the night. In the morning however, both mom and pup were on the ground again and seemed incredibly lethargic. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bat and her baby and located a bat-trained rescuer in the finder’s area. The mama and pup were transferred to a rescuer where they will be assessed for hopeful release back to the wild.
