A homeowner in Houston, Delaware had baby bats falling from a roost inside her barn. We advised hanging screen the length of the roost and creating a pup catcher, as seen on this link, so that babies who fall can crawl back in on their own. We also advised placing the fallen babies on the net so they could crawl back into the bat house. The pup catcher also allows bats who get over heated to come down and cool off. It’s cheap to make and can save dozens of lives over the summer. The baby bats who had fallen were placed on the net and they crawled back inside the house successfully.
