Rescue Log

In addition to the 700 permanent residents cared for daily at Bat World Sanctuary, the following bats were rescued and released back to the wild (or were provided permanent sanctuary with us if they were not releasable). Texas – bat found in store

A bat was found in a store in Abilene, TX. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bat and located a bat-trained rescuer in the finder’s area. The bat was transferred to a rescuer where he/she will be assessed for hopeful release back to the wild.  

Texas – bat flying in grocery store

A bat was found flying in a grocery store in Weatherford, TX. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bat and located a bat-trained rescuer in the finder’s area. The bat was transferred to a rescuer where he/she will be assessed for hopeful release back to the wild.

Alabama – bats found in drain pipe

Several bats were found cold after falling out of a drain pipe in Ramer, AL. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bats and located a bat-trained rescuer in the finder’s area. The bats were  transferred to a rescuer where he/she will be assessed for hopeful release back to the wild.

Texas – Bat found hanging on door

A family found a bat hanging on their front door in Corsicana, TX. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bat and located a bat-trained rescuer in the finder’s area. The bat was transferred to a rescuer where he/she will be assessed for hopeful release back to the wild.

Florida – Bat found grounded missing wing

A couple found a bat on the ground with a missing wing in Sanford, FL. They contacted a dog rescue friend, who reached out to us. We located a bat-trained rescuer in the finder’s area. The bat was transferred to a rescuer where he/she will be assessed for hopeful release back to the wild.

FL – Bat found crawling on porch

A bat was found crawling on a porch near Tavares, Florida. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bat and located a bat-trained rescuer in the finder’s area. The bat was transferred to a rescuer where he/she will be assessed for hopeful release back to the wild.

North Carolina – bat found in house

A bat was found in a house near Waynesville, North Carolina. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bat and located a bat-trained rescuer in the finder’s area. The bat was transferred to a rescuer where he/she will be assessed for hopeful release back to the wild.

Georgia – bat on rafters

A bat was found hanging from a rafter in a building in Stone Mountain, GA. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bat and located a bat-trained rescuer in the finder’s area. The bat was transferred to a rescuer where he/she will be assessed for hopeful release back to the wild.

A bat was located grounded and with a broken wind in Chambersburg, PA. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bat and located a bat-trained rescuer in the finder’s area. The bat was transferred to a rescuer where he/she will be assessed for hopeful release back to the wild.
