Rescue Log

In addition to the 700 permanent residents cared for daily at Bat World Sanctuary, the following bats were rescued and released back to the wild (or were provided permanent sanctuary with us if they were not releasable). Iowa – bat found roosting low

A young bat was found roosting low on a building near a busy road in Davenport, Iowa. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bat and located a bat-trained rescuer in the finder’s area. The bat was transferred to a rescuer where he/she will be assessed for hopeful release back to the wild.

Indiana – bat trapped inside home

North Carolina – bat in apartment building

A property manager called from Charlotte, NC, about living under the siding of their commercial facility. We provided educational information on bats, as well as humane exclusion guidelines. The manager decided it would be in their best interest to perform a humane exclusion using the information on Bat World’s website.
