Rescue Log

In addition to the 700 permanent residents cared for daily at Bat World Sanctuary, the following bats were rescued and released back to the wild (or were provided permanent sanctuary with us if they were not releasable). New York – bat found in bathroom sleeping on towel

A bat was found sleeping on a towel inside a homeowners bathroom in Wappinger Falls, NY. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bat and located a bat trained rescuer in the finder’s area. The bat was transferred to a rescuer where he will be assessed for hopeful release back to the wild.

Texas – bat outside apartment door

Laying on the sidewalk outside an apartment door in San Antonio, TX. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bat and located a bat trained rescuer in the finder’s area. The bat was transferred to a rescuer where he will be assessed for hopeful release back to the wild.  

Georgia – bat grounded with torn wing

A bat was found in the middle of a running path in Augusta, GA. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bat and located a bat trained rescuer in the finder’s area. The bat was transferred to a rescuer where he will be assessed for hopeful release back to the wild.

Washington – bat found under board

A bat was found hiding underneath a board that was unscrewed in Ridgefield, WA. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bat and located a bat trained rescuer in the finder’s area. The bat was transferred to a rescuer where he will be assessed for hopeful release back to the wild.

Georgia – bat caught by cat

A bat was found by a cat in a homeowner’s garage in Perry, GA. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bat and located a bat trained rescuer in the finder’s area. The bat was transferred to a rescuer where he will be assessed for hopeful release back to the wild.

Missouri – bat found cold stunned

A bat was found cold stunned on the ground in Columbia, MO. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bat and located a bat trained rescuer in the finder’s area. The bat was transferred to a rescuer where he will be assessed for hopeful release back to the wild.  

Indiana – two bats found grounded

Two bats were found on the ground in a homeowner’s yard in Avon, IN. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bat and located a bat trained rescuer in the finder’s area. The bat was transferred to a rescuer where he will be assessed for hopeful release back to the wild.

Texas – bat found grounded

A bat was found on the ground in College Station, TX. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bat and located a bat trained rescuer in the finder’s area. The bat was transferred to a rescuer where he will be assessed for hopeful release back to the wild.
