A red bat was spotted hanging under the roof of a porch in Fort Smith, AR. The caller was concerned as the bat appeared to not have moved in several days. However, the bat appeared uninjured and  well groomed. We explained that roosting under eves is typical behavior for juvenile bats just learning to fly so the bat is likely okay. If the bat does not fly away in the next few days the homeowner will call us back.
