A resident in Kansas City, MO discovered a bat in her window, but much to her shock, it appeared that the little bat had his wing trapped in the shutter. Afraid that she would injure the little one’s wing, she gave us a call for advice. We provided guidance on how to gently remove the bat from the shutter and safely contain him, and located a bat-trained rescuer in the finder’s area. The bat was transferred to a rescuer where he/she will be assessed for hopeful release back to the wild.
