A man in Galva, Canada found a bat attached to his mouse glue trap in his garage. The bat was very stuck causing him to be dehydrated and exhausted.  We provided guidance on how to safely remove the bat using gloves, vegetable oil and a cotton swab.  We also located a Bat World Sanctuary trained rescuer in the finder’s area. The bat was transferred to a rescuer where he will be accessed for injuries and given supportive care until he is able to go free. We also cautioned the homeowner on using glue traps in the future because they cause inhumane deaths to so many animals. The homeowner was horrified that the bat was stuck to the trap and vowed to never use them again.
