A resident of a local student dorm in Las Cruces, NM discovered a small bat grounded in the hall. The little bat was extremely emaciated and dehydrated. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bat and located a bat-trained rescuer in the finder’s area. However, the little bat was too far gone and unfortunately passed away shortly after being contained. We provided the contact information of rehabbers in the finders are in case they find another bat in the future.
