A caller from a local apartment complex in Weatherford, TX had found a young Eastern red bat in the hall of the complex. The bat had a severely broken wing, and with large ceiling fans in the hall above it was apparent what had happened. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bat and sent a staff member to collect the bat right away. The bat was brought to the sanctuary where she will be assessed and receive lifetime sanctuary as she will likely not be releasable.
