A man in Rochester, NY found a bat stuck to his mousetrap out that he had set out. The bat got caught in a mousetrap and its back legs are injured. We provided guidance on how to safely remove the bat, We also located a Bat World Sanctuary trained rescuer in the finder’s area. The bat was transferred to a rescuer where he will be accessed for injuries and given supportive care until he is able to go free. We also cautioned the homeowner on using  traps in the future because they cause inhumane deaths to so many animals. The homeowner was horrified that the bat was stuck in the trap and vowed to never use them again.
