A business owner in Fort Wayne, ID noticed a small bat roosting on the side of their building while taking out the trash. They had seen the bat there the day prior but didn’t get close enough to realize it was, in fact, a bat at the time. Because it had not moved from its roosting spot at all, they were concerned about the little bat’s wellbeing so they gave us a call. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bat and located a bat-trained rescuer in the finder’s area. The bat was transferred to a rescuer where he/she will be assessed for hopeful release back to the wild.
