A homeowner in Laurel, MI noticed a stray dog in their yard with something in its mouth. When the homeowner went outside the dog dropped what was in its mouth. It was a bat, who now had a severely broken wing. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bat and located several bat trained rescuers in the finder’s area. The bat was transferred to a rescuer where he/she will be assessed and receive lifetime sanctuary as he/she will likely not be releasable.
