A local resident in Palmview, TX found a bat lying on the ground. It was extremely hot outside, so she quickly used gloved to place the bat in a secure box and bring the little one out of the heat. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bat and located a bat-trained rescuer in the finder’s area. The bat was transferred to a rescuer where he/she will be assessed for hopeful release back to the wild.
