A resident in Conroe, TX found 3 small bat pups scattered in the grass below a tree after a storm hit the area. She looked around and noticed the mother up high in a tree, who took off and flew away without her babies. Now that the babies were abandoned, she knew they would need to go to a rescuer. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bats and located a bat-trained rescuer in the finder’s area. The babies were transferred to a rescuer where they will be hand-raised and released when old enough to survive.
