A juvenile bat had the unfortunate luck of running into an outdoor ceiling fan in San Antonio, Texas. Seeing the bat had a broken wing, the finder gave us a call. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bat, located several bat trained rescuers in the finder’s area, and advised that the homeowner shut off outdoors fans at night. The bat was transferred to a rescuer where it he/she will be assessed and receive lifetime sanctuary as he/she will likely not be releasable.
