Earl, a big brown bat got tangled up in a barbed wire fence in Hallsville, TX. The finder called BW Midcities after carefully disentangling Earl from the wire and getting him secured in a box with a small dish of water, and transport volunteer Mandy made the trip drive to collect Earl and bring him for care. The tear to his wing membrane will likely take at least six months to heal, so Earl will be spending the winter at BW Midcities. He’s an elderly gentleman, so he will be assessed carefully in the spring before his release.
