A bat was spotted roosting under the eve of a house in Panama City, FL. The caller was concerned as the bat appeared to not have moved in several days. However, the bat appeared uninjured and well groomed and guano could be seen on the walkway beneath the bat, meaning he/she had been foraging for insects. We explained that roosting under eaves is typical behavior for juvenile bats just learning to fly so the bat is likely okay. If the bat does not fly away in the next few days the homeowner will call us back.
