A small evening bat was found roosting inside the folds of an umbrella in Copper Canyon, Texas. The caller was concerned as the bat appeared to not have moved in several days. However, the bat appeared uninjured and  well groomed. We explained that roosting under umbrellas is typical behavior for this species so he is likely okay. If the bat does not fly away in the next few days the homeowner will call us back.
