Five more lactating bats were found grounded in Mineral Wells, TX. Each one was covered in a grout like substance that was not completely dry so removing the gunk was very difficult (see 7-14 entry). Each bat was soaked in coconut oil and then the substance covering them was removed with cotton swabs around their faces, gauze pads on their wings and then finally by clipping their fur on their bodies. Each female is not doing well. We have reached out to the community to try and stop what is making this happen. Thankfully the mother bats are doing well and will be released within a day so they can fly back to their pups.
