A juvenile Eastern red bat was found grounded after high winds blew through Flint, TX. The bat sustained a broken wing membrane and lost a substantial part of one finger during the wind storm. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bat and located several Bat World Sanctuary trained rescuers in the finder’s area. The bat was transferred to Bat World MidCities where he will remain and be granted permanent, lifetime sanctuary.
