A colony of evening bats was discovered in a homeowners patio umbrella when it was opened in La Cresta, CA. One baby fell out while the other bats flew away. The homeowner was unwilling to close the umbrella and allow the bats to stay, so we provided guidance on how to safely contain the pup and located a bat trained rescuer in the finder’s area. The baby was transferred to a rescuer where he/she will be hand-raised and released when old enough to survive in the wild.
