A big brown bat was found by Mansfield, TX animal control after strong storms and high winds swept through north Texas. There are no big brown bat colonies anywhere near Dallas/ Ft. Worth so he may have been caught in the severe winds and blown out of his area. He was transported to Bat World MidCities and found to have bruising on his body and a torn wing membrane. He is receiving pain medication and supportive care and with time, should make a full recovery.
