A very thin adult bat was found grounded in the UAE. The extreme heat wave in the area likely caused a lack of insects as well as heat exhaustion. No rescuers are available in the area so we provided guidance via email as well as book chapters on caring for bats in captivity. The bat is not injured but looks thin and dehydrated. He should be able to gain strength with supportive care and then be released back to the wild.
