Tennessee- Egyptian fruit bat rescued from pet trade

April 13

An Egyptian fruit bat was transported from Nashville, TN to us after receiving a call that someone was keeping him as a pet along with 3 others in a bird cage. The 3 other Egyptian fruit bats did not survive leaving this fruit bat (Branch) alone in the bird cage with no socialization or enrichment. Thankfully someone contacted us about this situation and we were able to get the Branch transported to us so he could live out the rest of his life with tons of friends and food and enrichment here at our sanctuary.
