A home owner from Fort Wayne, IN recently purchased their home and was shocked to find a little bat roosting on the back patio. They noted that there had not been any bat colonies in the home, so they assumed the little brown bat was most likely in trouble. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the bat and located a bat-trained rescuer in the finder’s area. The bat was transferred to a rescuer where he/she will be assessed for hopeful release back to the wild.
