Rest In Peace Statler

Statler
It is with our deepest sorrow we announce that our sweet Statler has passed away at the age of 34 years old. Statler passed in the arms of his beloved caretaker, Moriah, while napping in the morning sun. He will be laid to rest next to roost mate Chessie and old friend Walter on the sanctuary property. We love you, Statler. Thank you for the years you gave us and the trust you put in us.

Please click here to read more about his life, as well as view videos made by The Dodo and Geobeats earlier this year. The combined views of these videos were over 32 million. His final years were joyful, and that means the world to us.

~ As an aside, we intended to send an announcement on the matching grant being met when our beloved Statler passed. We are including the update below, as well as a photo of a recently rescued orphan. Saving lives always helps to ease the pain of lives lost. ~

Matching Grant Met ♥
We want to take this time to thank everyone who contributed to our matching grant request to finish our water project. Because of you, the match has been met. You are all so wonderful to help us with this critical need. The outer building to enclose and insulate the tank will be constructed this fall and we will send updates as that occurs.

Little Dusty
Orphaned bats continue to come in daily. The photo below shows a recent rescue. Little Dusty is doing well and will be able to be released in three to four more weeks of care. (A special thank you to Patrick W. for the matching grant of $500 for the orphans, which we were able to raise through Facebook.)

As always, thank you for your continued support of our rescue work. We could not rescue and provide happiness to orphaned, abused and neglected bats without your help, and that means as much to us as it does to them.
