Texas – pregnant bat caught by cat

May 22

A desperate home owner from Corinth, Texas gave us a call after discovering the family cat had caught a pregnant bat. She owner gave us a call. We provided guidance on how to safely contain the mother bat and located a bat trained rescuer in the finder’s area. She will receive supportive care until her injuries heal and she can be released back to the wild. Please know that we like cats as well. Outside of feral, cats should not be allowed to roam outside and create havoc with defenseless wildlife. Please consider a “catio” or screened porch to allow your furry feline friend to enjoy the fresh air without risking their safety or endangering the small wild animals who may be passing by.
