New Mexico – bat under eve

November 12

A bat was spotted roosting under the eve of a home in Carlsbad, NM.
The caller was concerned as the bat appeared to not have moved in several days. However, the bat appeared uninjured and  well groomed. We explained that roosting under eaves is typical behavior for juvenile bats just learning to fly so the bat is likely okay. If the bat does not fly away in the next few days the homeowner will call us back.
